Origami

"When the paper folds, the mind unfolds"

Origami is Japanese for paper folding. What started as a Japanese paper folding art is now a valuable educational tool widely used not only to teach art and math but to improve children’s minds one fold at a time. Origami training stimulates high motor activity. According to Jean Piaget a renowned Swiss child development psychologist, “motor activity in the form of skilled movements is vital to the development of intuitive thought and the mental representation of space”. Origami training involves intensive interaction between the left-right hemispheres of the brain reflecting influence in both verbal and non-verbal (spatial imagination) skills.

Our 2-hour workshop is conducted at multiple levels so the novices, the aficionados and every one in between can benefit.

Interesting Fact: An origami expert Robert Lang designed a deployable solar array for NASA which can be folded compactly and deployed while in outer space.
